Since 2002 Matt Sargent has produced in excess of one hundred and twenty paintings, with around twenty of these being commissioned by individuals or businesses. Most pieces are around one metre by one and a half metres. Often finished with a stretch, glass clear p.v.c. fabric his trademark, exceptional attention to the quality of line and uniformity of colour often leads viewers to a disbelief of it being a painting at all.
Although focusing mainly on the female in paintings Matt is able to turn his pencil to design of almost any kind, from character, concept, technical, advertising and logo. |

Since all the images go through Photoshop and/or illustrator before being made into a painting, a huge body of illustration work has been produced by Matt over the years. A small part of this available to view here in the ARCHIVE.

This includes character design, such as the artwork for a Hip Hop single release in the form of a side scrolling computer game for Flabz.com. These are some of the original sketches. They were vectored and coloured before use in game. Each required 4 key frames to animate in game.

Branding, retail/corporate design, although a much different discipline is also available as a service individually, or part of a larger brief. Such as the MAYA Bakery market stall, which included logo design.
Other examples are. The logo for the Deptford Army club night/brand, established 2009/10. The logo also features on T-shirts. The DirtyEarth.Biz logo for one of Matt Sargent's current musical collaborations. The sub D logo for a website design company. The bottom line of the gallery also features a variety of promotional and retail pieces for Little Nan's brand, at their various venues. |
Finally, as part of the design process, technical drawings are essential. Be it pitching concept to clients, to communicating the specifics of a construction process, Matt cuts out the need for additional drafting staff.
To the right are just a few examples of this. |
